Your secret weapons for a smooth(er) family trip

How to simplify packing, discover must-have apps, and snack smarter

We’re back with Issue 2 Juice Box and jazzed about it.🎷(Do people still say jazzed? Probably not). We learned some lessons on our road trip last week, so this issue is all about travel tips to make your summer trips as smooth as possible. If only we could go back in time…

📦 Clutter Buster: Packing Cubes 2.0

👉 Packing cubes are a game-changer, but we’re taking it up a notch. Here are some new ways to use them that you might not have thought of:

  • Color Code by Family Member: 🟡🟣🔵 Assign a different color packing cube to each family member (we use these). This makes it super easy to find everyone's clothes without rummaging through the entire suitcase.

  • Outfit Planning: Pack complete outfits (including socks and underwear) in each cube, or a Ziplock bag to use later. This saves time when getting dressed and keeps everything organized.

  • Dirty Laundry Solution: Use a cube to separate dirty clothes from clean ones so you exactly what can be dumped into the hamper the minute you're home.

📲 Tech Talk: Top 3 Travel Apps for Families

We love when new apps cross our radar. Here are three we just downloaded:

  1. PackPoint (Free): Customized packing lists based on your destination and activities. Perfect for parents who want to ensure they don't forget essentials for the little ones (like the swim diaper we forgot last week!)

  2. Glympse (Free): Share your real-time location with family and friends. Great for keeping everyone informed about your ETA (i.e. Grandma asking 5 times when you'll arrive.)

  3. Gowhee ($4.99/month): Find kid-friendly locations and activities wherever you go, rated and shared by fellow parents. Ideal for when you’re visiting a new city and need to find a nearby playground or family-friendly restaurant.

🍴Snack Solutions: On the Road Snack Ideas

Keeping everyone fed and happy on the road can be a challenge. Here are two no-cooler-needed snack ideas that are baby and toddler safe:

  • Baby-Safe Trail Mix: Combine Cheerios, freeze-dried fruit like strawberries, and yogurt bites- that's it. Customize to your kiddos' tastes.

  • Waffles: No need to limit waffles to breakfast time. Waffles make a fun finger-food snack for the road since they're less crumbly than traditional bread, and you can make sandwiches out of them in a pinch with single-serve cream cheese or peanut butter.

Don’t forget to send us your tips and feedback at [email protected] – we love hearing from you!

Wishing you smooth sailing⛵️for whatever summer adventures you choose to embark on, you brave soul, you.
